He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 to him thou attendest 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 And hath fear, 9 you ignore him. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Not one – he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And grapes and clover, 28 olives, dates, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
