Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Ha Mim 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 A Book whose signs have been distinguished as an Arabic Koran for a people having knowledge, 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Physically I am a human like you – I receive the divine revelation that your God is only One God, therefore be upright towards Him and seek forgiveness from Him”; and woe is to the polytheists. – 6 who do not pay zakat and have no faith in the life to come. 7 As to those who have faith and do good works, surely theirs shall be a never-ending reward. 8
