O you apostles, eat things that are clean, and do things that are good. We are surely cognisant of what you do. 51 Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so fear Me.' 52 But their nations broke their tasks into pieces; every group happy with what it has. 53 So leave them in their error till a time. 54 Do they imagine that the wealth and children We have provided 55 We vie in good works for them? Nay, but they are not aware. 56 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 Those who join not (in worship) partners with their Lord; 59 And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities, etc., have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning). 60 These are hastening on to good, and they are therein foremost. 61 And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 "Put a stop to your groaning now! Surely no help shall be provided to you from Us. 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night. 67 Was it that you did not give any thought to it (the Quran)? Was it different from what was revealed to your fathers? 68 Or did they not recognise their apostle, and rejected him? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 Had the truth followed their desires, the heavens and the earth and all that is in them would have been destroyed. We sent them the Quran but they ignored it. 71 Or, do you ask a tribute from them? Your Lord's tribute is better. He is the Best of providers. 72 Indeed you are calling them to a Straight Path, 73 And most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter are deviating from the way. 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus] 76 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! 77
