The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 and those who recite the Remembrance 3 Verily your God is One. 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth, and of what between them is Lord of the Easts. 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 And as protection against every rebellious devil 7 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 8 And kept far away. There is perpetual punishment for them, 9 Save him who snatcheth a fragment, and there pursueth him a piercing flame. 10 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Are they stronger in constitution, or those We created? We created them of clinging clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say: "Yea, indeed - and most abject will you then be!" 18 There will be a single stern rebuff and lo, they will be observing with their own eyes (all that they had been warned against). 19 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." 20 This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny. 21
