He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 You pay full attention, 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 and fears (Allah), 9 From him you are distracted. 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 lofty and pure, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 And cause the grain to grow therein 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 olives, dates, 29 and dense orchards, 30 And fruits and grass, 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
