And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 so that they might eat of its fruit and the labor of their hands. Will they not give thanks? 35 Glory to Allah, Who created in pairs all things that the earth produces, as well as their own (human) kind and (other) things of which they have no knowledge. 36 A sign for them is the night. From it We withdraw the day and they are in darkness. 37 The sun is running its course to its appointed place. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 We have appointed stages for the moon till it returns in the shape of a dry old branch of palm-tree. 39 Neither does it lie in the sun's power to overtake the moon nor can the night outstrip the day. All glide along, each in its own orbit. 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 We have created for them the like of it in which they ride. 42 And if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved 43 unless it be a mercy from us, and as an enjoyment for a season. 44 And [yet,] when they are told, "Beware of [God's insight into] all that lies open before you and all that is hidden from you, so that you might be graced with His mercy," [most men choose to remain deaf;] 45 Indeed, not one of your Lord's signs comes to them without their turning away from it, 46 And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error." 47 And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
