And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They answered: "There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy." 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 you and your forefathers of yore? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 Do not betray me 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 And Paradise will be brought near to the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 Now we have no intercessors, 100 nor a loving friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104
