The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
