Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the snorting runners (the horses), 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 cleaving there with a host! 5 Indeed man is very ungrateful towards his Lord. 6 And most surely he is a witness of that. 7 And indeed he is ardent for the love of good (wealth, becoming greedy). 8 ۞ Does he not know when the contents of the graves are laid bare 9 and that which is in the breasts is brought out -- 10 Verily, that Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) their Lord will be Well-Acquainted with them (as to their deeds), (and will reward them for their deeds). 11
