The chiefs of Firon's people said: most surely this is an enchanter possessed of knowledge: 109 who wants to drive you out of your land! " [Said Pharaoh:] "What, then, do you advise?" 110 The others suggested holding Moses and his brother off and sending to all the cities 111 "To bring all the wise magicians to you." 112 And the sorcerers came to Pharaoh, saying, 'We shall surely have a wage, if we should be the victors?' 113 The Pharaoh replied, "In addition to your rewards, you will become my close friends thereafter." 114 They said: O Musa! either thou cast down, or we shall be the ones to cast down. 115 He answered: "You throw [first]." And when they threw down [their staffs,] they cast a spell upon the people's eyes, and struck them with awe, and produced mighty sorcery. 116 And We revealed to Musa, saying: Cast your rod; then lo! it devoured the lies they told. 117 ۞ Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect. 118 Thus they were overcome and made to look abject. 119 And the enchanters were thrown down, prostrating (themselves). 120 They said, 'We believe in the Lord of all Being, 121 The Lord of Musa and Harun. 122 Said Pharaoh: "Believe ye in Him before I give you permission? Surely this is a trick which ye have planned in the city to drive out its people: but soon shall ye know (the consequences). 123 I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides; then I will surely crucify you all." 124 They said, "Indeed, to our Lord we will return. 125 And you do not take revenge on us except because we have believed in the communications of our Lord when they came to us! Our Lord: Pour out upon us patience and cause us to die in submission. 126

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
