The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 on a great day 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house! 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 The last thereof (that wine) will be the smell of musk, and for this let (all) those strive who want to strive (i.e. hasten earnestly to the obedience of Allah). 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
