And they ask you (O Muhammad SAW) concerning the Ruh (the Spirit); Say: "The Ruh (the Spirit): it is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you (mankind) have been given only a little." 85 If it were Our Will, We could take away that which We have sent thee by inspiration: then wouldst thou find none to plead thy affair in that matter as against Us,- 86 except by the mercy of your Lord. He has certainly bestowed great favors on you. 87 Say: Verily, though mankind and the jinn should assemble to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof though they were helpers one of another. 88 We have mentioned in this Quran all kinds of examples for the human being, but most human beings turn away in disbelief. 89 They say: "We shall not believe in thee, until thou cause a spring to gush forth for us from the earth, 90 Or you should have a garden of palms and grapes in the midst of which you should cause rivers to flow forth, gushing out. 91 or till thou makest heaven to fall, as thou assertest, on us in fragments, or thou bringest God and the angels as a surety, 92 Or you have a house of gold or you ascend into the sky. And [even then], we will not believe in your ascension until you bring down to us a book we may read." Say, "Exalted is my Lord! Was I ever but a human messenger?" 93
