Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The craving for excess wealth kept you people neglectful. 1 until you reach your graves. 2 Yes certainly, you will soon realise! 3 Again, Nay! You shall come to know! 4 Indeed, were you to know the truth with certainty, 5 You will surely end up seeing Hell; 6 Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then, on that day, you will be questioned about the bounties (of God). 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
