Sad. I swear by the Quran, which is full of reminders of God, (that you are a Messenger). 1 But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism. 2 How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! 3 And they marvel that a warner from among themselves hath come unto them, and the disbelievers say: This is a wizard, a charlatan. 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a wondrous thing' 5 And the leader among them go away (impatiently), (saying), "Walk ye away, and remain constant to your gods! For this is truly a thing designed (against you)! 6 Never did we hear of [a claim like] this in any faith of latter days! It is nothing but [a mortal man's] invention! 7 Has the message been revealed to him out of [all of] us?" Rather, they are in doubt about My message. Rather, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving? 9 Or is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend through [any] ways of access. 10 They will be one more army vanquished among the many routed hordes. 11 The people of Noah, Ad and the dominating Pharaoh had rejected Our revelations. 12 And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups. 13 None of them was such that it did not deny the Noble Messengers, therefore My punishment became inevitable. 14
