Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 Worship Allah, and fear Him, and obey me. 3 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew." 4 He said: O my Lord! surely I have called my people by night and by day! 5 "But all my calling added nothing but to (their) flight (from the truth). 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 Then I summoned them openly, 8 "Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private, 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 when He has created you in stages? 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp? 16 And God caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 God has made the earth for you a spreading, 19 So that you may walk upon its spacious paths.' 20
