[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
