The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
