Whatever of misfortune striketh you, it is what your right hands have earned. And He forgiveth much. 30 And ye cannot frustrate His punishment in the earth; and there is for you beside Allah neither protector nor helper. 31 And of His Signs are the ships that sail in the sea like mountains. 32 If He will He calmeth the wind so that they keep still upon its surface - Lo! herein verily are signs for every steadfast grateful (heart). - 33 Or He may destroy them (by drowning) because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much. 34 And those who dispute (polytheists, etc. with Our Messenger Muhammad SAW) as regards Our Ayat (proofs, signs, verses, etc. of Islamic Monotheism) may know that there is no place of refuge for them (from Allah's punishment). 35 Whatever you have been given is only a temporary provision of this life, but that which is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord; 36 And those who shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive. 37 who have pledged their obedience to the Lord, who are steadfast in prayer, who conduct their affairs with consultation among themselves, who spend for the cause of God out of what We have given them, 38 And those who defend themselves when they are wronged. 39 The retribution of evil is the equal of evil (done); yet those who forgive and rehabilitate will be rewarded by God. Verily He does not like those who do wrong. 40 And whosoever helps himself after he has been wronged -- against them there is no way. 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and wrongly rebel in the earth, for such there will be a painful torment. 42 And whoever is patient and forgives - indeed, that is of the matters [requiring] determination. 43
