The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 About the great news - 2 About which they have been differing? 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
