Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the receding night 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 That Hell is surely one of the greater signs, 35 a warning to humans, 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 we fed not the needy, 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
