Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 They said: "Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting. 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 We communicated to him Our decree that the guilty ones would be destroyed by the morning. 66 And there came the people of the city rejoicing 67 He said, 'These are my guests; put me not to shame, 68 And fear Allah, and humiliate me not. 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 He said, “These women of our tribe are my daughters, if you have to.” 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
