The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 This is the exalted Book (the Qur’an), in which there is no place for doubt; a guidance for the pious. 2 Who believe in the Ghaib and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend out of what we have provided for them [i.e. give Zakat, spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allah's Cause - Jihad, etc.]. 3 And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these they are the blissful ones. 5 As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. 6 Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allah's Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment. 7
