On the day when We shall summon all men with their record, whoso is given his book in his right hand - such will read their book and they will not be wronged a shred. 71 Whoso is blind here will be blind in the Hereafter, and yet further from the road. 72 And their purpose was to tempt thee away from that which We had revealed unto thee, to substitute in our name something quite different; (in that case), behold! they would certainly have made thee (their) friend! 73 And had We not kept you steadfast, possibly you might have inclined to them just a little. 74 And if it were*, We would then have made you taste a double life and a double death – you would then not find any supporter against Us. (* Which is impossible.) 75 Their purpose was to scare thee off the land, in order to expel thee; but in that case they would not have stayed (therein) after thee, except for a little while. 76 The tradition of the Noble Messengers We sent before you – and you will not find Our rules changing. 77
