The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 On a Great Day, 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 No! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
