In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ TaHa. 1 We have not sent down the Koran upon thee for thee to be unprosperous, 2 Except as a reminder for one who fears. 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high. 4 the All Merciful settled on the throne. 5 Whatever is in the heavens and the earth and in between them, belongs to Him, as whatever lies under the earth. 6 Whether you speak aloud [or in a low voice], He hears all, for He knows your secrets and what is even more hidden. 7 Allah - there is no god but He. His are the most excellent names. 8 And has the story of Moses reached you? - 9 When he saw the fire, he said to his family, "Wait here for I can see a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a burning torch or find a way to some fire". 10 And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses, 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 “And I have chosen you, therefore listen carefully to what is divinely revealed to you.” 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming; I would conceal it that every soul may be recompensed for its labours. 15 Hence, let not anyone who does not believe in its coming and follows [but] his own desires divert thee from [belief in] it, lest thou perish! 16 What is that in your right band, O Moses?" 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, bring down leaves for my sheep with it and I need it for other reasons. 18 Allah said: cast it down, O Musa! 19 He cast it down, and behold! It was a snake, moving quickly. 20 He said: Grasp it and fear not. We shall return it to its former state. 21 And place your hand in your armpit, it will come forth shining white, without blemish. This is another Sign of Allah, 22 That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents, 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed all bounds." 24

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
