T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha 1 We have not sent the Quran to make you, (Muhammad), miserable, 2 But as admonition for him who fears -- 3 It is a sending down from Him who has created the earth, and the high heavens, 4 the Merciful willed to the Throne. 5 To Him only belongs all whatever is in the heavens and all whatever is in the earth, and all whatever is between them, and all whatever is beneath this wet soil. 6 And if thou speakest aloud, then lo! He knoweth the secret (thought) and (that which is yet) more hidden. 7 Allah – there is no worship except for Him; His only are the best names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire and said unto his folk: Lo! Wait! I see a fire afar off. Peradventure I may bring you a brand therefrom or may find guidance at the fire. 10 When he came to it, a voice cried, 'Moses, 11 I am your Lord. Take off your shoes, for you are in Towa, the sacred valley. 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed: 13 I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. 14 Verily the Hour is coming - I wish to conceal it - in order that every one may be requited according to that which he hath endeavoured. 15 So let not him who believeth not therein and followeth his own desire keep thee away therefrom lest thou perish. 16 And what is this in your right hand, O Musa! 17 'Why, it is my staff,' said Moses. 'I lean upon it, and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep; other uses also I find in it. 18 Said He, 'Cast it down, Moses!' 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent running along. 20 Said He: "Take hold of it, and fear not: We shall restore it to its former state. 21 "Now place thy hand within thy armpit: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish, as another sign [of Our grace,] 22 "That We may show you (some) of Our Greater Signs. 23 Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 24
