The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting. 2 He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 in its long columns of flames. 9
True are the words of God the Almighty.
