And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
