Hizb 46

And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 Did He choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 And surely they used to say: 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
