Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel peace be upon him.) 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 In eloquent Arabic. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 We never destroyed any town without first sending to them warning and guidance. 208 as a reminder from Us: We are never unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
