1/2 Hizb 45

۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 But then, [O my friends in paradise,] is it [really] so that we are not to die 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
