O People who Believe! Obey Allah and His Noble Messenger, and do not turn away from him after you have heard him speak. 20 And be not like unto those who say: we hear, whereas they hearken not. 21 ۞ The most wicked beasts in the sight of God are the deaf and the dumb who have no understanding. 22 And had Allah known in them any good He would surely have made them hearken; and even if He made them hear, they would surely turn away as backsliders. 23 O believers, respond to the call of God and His Prophet when he calls you to what will give you life (and preservation). Remember that God intervenes between man and his heart, and that you will be gathered before Him. 24 And guard yourselves against a chastisement which cannot fall exclusively on those of you who are wrong-doers, and know that Allah is severe in punishment. 25 And remember, when ye were few and reckoned feeble in the land, and were in fear lest men should extirpate you, how He gave you refuge, and strengthened you with His help, and made provision of good things for you, that haply ye might be thankful. 26 O Ye who believe! defraud not Allah and the apostle, nor defraud your trusts while ye know. 27 And know that your wealth and your children are a test, and that with Allah is an immense reward. 28
