۞ Say, [God says] "O My servants, who have committed excesses against their own souls, do not despair of God's mercy, for God surely forgives all sins. He is truly the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 53 Turn to your Lord and submit to Him before His scourge overtakes you, for then you shall not be helped. 54 Follow the best aspect of what is sent down to you from your Lord, before the scourge comes upon you unawares, 55 Turn to God in repentance before a soul says, "Woe to me because of my failure to fulfill my duties to God. Woe to me for mocking God's guidance!" 56 Or say: "If only God had guided me I would have been a man of fear and piety;" 57 Or should say, when it seeth the doom: Oh, that I had but a second chance that I might be among the righteous! 58 [But God will reply:] "Yea, indeed! My messages did come unto thee; but thou gavest them the lie, and wert filled with false pride, and wert among those who deny the truth!" 59 And on the Day of Resurrection thou (Muhammad) seest those who lied concerning Allah with their faces blackened. Is not the home of the scorners in hell? 60 And Allah shall deliver those who guard (against evil) with their achievement; evil shall not touch them, nor shall they grieve. 61 Allah is Creator of all things; and He only is the Controller of all things. 62 the keys of the heavens and the earth belong to Him. Those who deny God's revelations will surely be the losers. 63
