Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad SAW and the Quran). 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
