The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 And a few from the latter. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and shade extended, 30 and gushing water, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 and upraised couches. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
