Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 storming tempestuously 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 for an appointed term? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 as black camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
