The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great event, 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 Requital corresponding. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
