The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
