The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
