The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
