Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
