And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
