Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In an elevated garden, 22 its fruits are near. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
