In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ O MAN! 1 We have not Sent down on thee the Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed. 2 But only as an admonition to those who fear (Allah),- 3 A revelation from Him (Allah) Who has created the earth and high heavens. 4 The Most Gracious Who, befitting His Majesty, took to the Throne (of control). 5 all that is in the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and all that is underneath the soil. 6 Whether you speak out aloud (or in a low voice), He knows what is said secretly, and even that which is most hidden. 7 Allah – there is no worship except for Him; His only are the best names. 8 Have you heard the story of Moses? 9 Lo! he saw a fire [in the desert]; and so he said to his family: "Wait here! Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]: perhaps I can bring you a brand there from, or find at the fire some guidance." 10 Then when he was come thereto, he was cried unto. O Musa! 11 Surely I am your Lord, therefore put off your shoes; surely you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa, 12 I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. 13 Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance: 14 The Hour of Resurrection is coming. I have willed to keep the time of its coming hidden so that everyone may be recompensed in accordance with his effort. 15 Let none bar thee from it, that believes not in it but follows after his own caprice, or thou wilt perish. 16 "What do you have in your right hand, Moses?" 17 'Why, it is my staff,' said Moses. 'I lean upon it, and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep; other uses also I find in it. 18 He said: Cast it down, O Moses! 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding. 20 He said: Take hold of it and fear not; We will restore it to its former state: 21 "Now - as another Sign - place your hand under your arm and it will come out sheer white without harm (or stain). 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. 24
