Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 your ideas are confused. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
