The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 he was created of gushing water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 it is not a jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
