The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
