Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
