3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!" 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
