Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort: 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
